< p _ngcontent-sc100="" class="news-annotation">Russia is using airfields in the occupied Crimea for war against Ukraine. From the airfields of Crimea, the invaders not only attack Ukraine, but also use it as logistics hubs.
This was stated on the air of the telethon by Yevgeny Yerin, head of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tauride direction, writes Channel 24 . He explained how dangerous airfields in the occupied Crimea are for Ukraine.
How Russia uses airfields in Crimea
According to Yerin, Russian aviation, based on the airfields of Crimea, poses the same danger as the aviation of the invaders in Russia, near the Caspian Sea, as well as long-range aviation, which can operate thousands of kilometers away.
Yerin stressed that the Crimean airfields are used by Russia not only for missile strikes. Also, as the speaker of the Defense Forces says, the Russians use them as a transport source of logistical support, with which the occupiers can replenish their supplies and rotate forces.
Russia moved aircraft after the “pop” in Crimea
- For a long time in the West, it was believed that Ukrainian attacks on Crimea could lead to an escalation of the conflict. However, at the end of the summer, the war also reached the Crimea.
- In particular, a series of explosions at the occupied airfields forced Russia to redeploy part of its aircraft and act more carefully. In addition, the Crimean bridge was seriously damaged in October. But Russia never responded with an escalation, in particular, threats of nuclear weapons remained only words.
