The ex-commander of the regiment of defenders of Mariupol spoke about the options for deblockade/Channel 24 collage
The Ukrainian military, in addition to the diplomatic route, is working on preparing a military route for the liberation of Mariupol. The work is being carried out with the top leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The corresponding statement was made by the ex-commander of the regiment of defenders of Mariupol Maxim Zhorin. He spoke about this exclusively in an interview with Channel 24.

Maxim Zhorin said that, in his opinion, it was absolutely realistic to conduct a military deblockade for the first month and a half Mariupol. This process was possible with relatively small forces.
According to Zhorin, his military then gave their strength. In particular, there were hundreds of volunteers who were ready to go to unblock the city, although this is a very complicated and difficult operation.
However, the ex-commander of the Mariupol Defenders Regiment added that it is no longer possible to conduct a one-stage blockade at present.

However, in addition to the diplomatic process, the process of preparing a military operation to unblock the city is still going on in parallel. Today it can be several stages with other cities previously liberated, regrouping,” Zhorin explained.
The ex-commander also added that it takes a lot of time. After all, we need to wait for the replenishment of equipment and artillery in order to move forward.
“I'm not sure that those who are now on the territory of Azovstal have this time. Therefore, we are preparing and we work in parallel in two directions: and diplomatic – in order to save them and take them out of there, and in the military – which in any case we will implement”, – the soldier explained.
He also assured that the deblockade would be communicated by military means exclusively with the top leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The ex-commander explained that this is necessary in order to organize the process.
As for the fighters, Maxim Zhorin explained that they have many brave servicemen who are eager and ready to do anything to free the brothers and unblock Mariupol. However, he added that this is not an operation for one unit, this is a large-scale combined-arms operation.
