British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that all decisions on the exchange of prisoners remain with Ukraine. He stressed that this also applies to the British in captivity.
He spoke about this on the air of the British TV channel Talk TV. In addition, he noted that the British authorities are working closely with the Ukrainian government on the exchange of prisoners.
Johnson on the prospect of a prisoner exchange
According to Johnson, the British government is doing everything possible to help its citizens, but Ukraine will make the decision on the exchange of British prisoners. – prisoners of war, that is, they are covered by the Geneva Convention.

The prime minister recalled that the Russians once again violated the laws of war by using prisoners in their propaganda. In the meantime, Facebook agreed to remove the propaganda video with Pinner and Aslin.
What is known about the prisoners from Britain:
- Two Britons are in Russian captivity – Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin. The latter voluntarily served in the Ukrainian army among the marines.
- According to Johnson, the UK will not help Russia by exchanging prisoners for Viktor Medvedchuk.
- Earlier, both prisoners appeared on Russian television with a request to exchange them to Putin's godfather.
- Also, Oksana Marchenko spoke about the agreements with Britain, who said that she had approached Boris Johnson with a proposal to initiate an exchange.
