Kyiv and Warsaw agreed to create such a legion during the signing of the security agreement.
The Polish Ministry of Defense stated that after completing their military service, Ukrainians will have the right to return to where they left, to where they left their families.
The Ukrainian-Polish security agreement also stipulates that Ukrainians who live not only in Poland, but also in other countries, such as the Czech Republic, will be able to join the volunteer Ukrainian legion.
Security agreement between Ukraine and the Czech Republic
It is known, that Kyiv and Prague also signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of security. However, the document does not mention anything about encouraging Ukrainian refugees to return home or about a volunteer legion.
According to the Czech Ministry of the Interior, there are currently more than 100,000 Ukrainian refugees registered in the country, men aged 18 to 65. Minister Vit Rakušan previously assured that there would be no forced return of Ukrainians from the Czech Republic. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky also ruled out the possibility of forced return of Ukrainians.
On the air of Interview ČT 24, Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová assured that her country would continue to train Ukrainian military personnel, but it would also be possible to include Czech citizens who consider themselves of Ukrainian nationality and form some kind of unit. According to her, participation in the Czech Legion should be entirely voluntary.
