On Saturday, January 18, Ukraine was shocked by the news that a helicopter carrying the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs crashed in the Kyiv region affairs. In particular, the head of the department, Denis Monastyrsky, himself died.
Although airplanes and helicopters are considered the safest vehicles, in recent years one can recall many tragedies associated with aircraft crashes. Actually, air crashes happen much less often than accidents, but their consequences have a greater resonance. Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Rovno
In the night On May 30, 2019, the Mi-8 military helicopter lost contact during a training flight at 23:27. Later it turned out that he was in a plane crash.

Helicopter crash into TV tower in Kremenchug
During a training flight, a Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the city of Kremenchug, Poltava region. It happened on January 25, 2018. As a result of the disaster, 4 crew members died, among them:
- commander;
- co-pilot;
- two flight engineers.
In just a year and a half – June 12, 2019 – the National Bureau of Air Accidents and Incidents Investigation of Civil Aircraft completed its investigation of this case . The official report states that the helicopter collided with a tripwire of the television tower of the TV and Radio Company “Vizit”. After hitting an obstacle, the helicopter fell to the ground 146 meters from the point of impact, breaking the wires of the power line near the TV tower.
This incident became possible because the pilots had the wrong coordinates for this TV tower, so they simply did not know where it was located. In addition, they could not see the structure due to bad weather conditions – that is, fog.

Aircraft crash in Khmelnitsky region
On September 29, 2017, an L-39 aircraft of the Air Force crashed in the village of Beregheli, Khmelnitsky region. After some time, it became known that there were two pilots on board – they died.
Then, the law enforcement officers first established that during the training flight the aircraft lost contact in the Starokonstantinov area, after which it fell and crashed.
