The forum was attended by the head of the parliamentary Committee on Freedom of Speech Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.
— I was positively impressed by the level of the event. We talked with Egor Checherinda, Vadim Denisenko and Alexander Antonyuk, under the sensitive moderation of Nikolai Filonov, about the challenges in the information sphere and how we can counteract the Kremlin’s propaganda machine.
I would like to note the project of the memorial Book of Memory, which the organizers are preparing together with the MHP, so that Podolians remember the heroes who died in the war with Russia. Because they live as long as we remember them.
We congratulated the journalists, first of all, the Vinnitsa military officers, on their professional day, — noted politician.
The Book of Heroes will be the first project in the Vinnytsia region, which will preserve the stories of defenders who gave their lives or went missing in the war with Russian occupiers since 2014. Their data will be collected by volunteers from all over the region, and the initiators of the collection of information were the MHP-Gromade Charitable Foundation, We-Vinnychane, Center Vector and the Vinnitsa News media holding.

What is the purpose of the Book of Heroes project
Project Goal — to pay tribute to the military who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom of Ukraine. Journalists will combine photographs, memories and information about each defender into a single online portal.
People's Deputy Nikolai Kucher emphasized the need for more attention to the heroic deeds of soldiers.
— We write little about our warriors who do heroic deeds and perform exploits every day. There are unique people who need to be shown. Little information, few awards, little attention. Today we need to pay maximum attention to the military, — told by People's Deputy of Ukraine Nikolai Kucher.
The chairman of the NGO We — spoke in more detail about the initiative. Vinnytsia residents Valery Koroviy.
— We are starting a separate project that concerns a memory book in electronic format. In it we will be engaged in the recovery of data of fallen military personnel from 2014 to the present day. We — civilian population, we strive to begin this process. Taking this opportunity, I invite journalists from the Vinnytsia region to cooperate, — Valery Koroviy announced from the stage.
Sergey Kudlaenko, head of We — Residents of Vinnytsia, expressed gratitude to military journalists for their work and called for active participation in the project, which will reflect the outstanding actions of Vinnytsia residents.
Nikolay Filonov, co-organizer, invited journalists, families of the victims and volunteers to cooperate.
— The magazine will become a place of memory of the outstanding deeds of our fellow countrymen. Regional journalists, families of the victims, volunteers, — said project co-organizer Nikolai Filonov.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, noted the importance of the memorial project and expressed support for this initiative.
— I would like to thank everyone involved, in particular the MHP company, who support this project. We have a huge debt to those who died. There is a good phrase: “Heroes don’t die…”. But this phrase has a continuation: “…while the memory of them is alive”. In this case we have heroes. We name the streets after them. But, I completely agree, if we don't practice this memory… I was also in Israel, I was at Arlington in the USA — and this is a cult in the good sense of the word. They come from school. You can come to the agricultural fair, but they will take you to Arlington “for sure”, so you can see how proud we are of our heroes.
And we really need to learn this. Thank you for doing this locally — supported the initiative Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.
