Lawyer Farion asked to cancel the decision of the court of first instance, which refused to reinstate her to the position of professor at the Ukrainian language department, to pay her the average salary for the entire period of forced absence and to compensate her for all legal costs.

The polytechnic representative noted that the decision of the court of first instance and the dismissal of Irina Farion are legal.

As a result, the appeal court partially upheld Irina Farion’s appeal. The decision of the Galitsky District Court of Lviv of February 7, 2024 was canceled and a new decision was made.

When considering the case, the appeal court suggested that the parties make mutual concessions and conclude a settlement agreement, but Irina Farion did not agree.

Farion Scandal

On November 15, it became known that Irina Farion was fired from the Lviv Polytechnic after the opening of criminal proceedings by the SBU. This was confirmed by the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovoy on his page on the social network Facebook.

After this, Farion stated that she intended to sue the National University of Lviv Polytechnic.

This was preceded by an interview in which she stated that she categorically does not accept the Russian-speaking military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and cannot call them Ukrainians. Her words caused a wave of indignation.

Also on social networks, Farion published a message with a screenshot of a message from a pro-Ukrainian student in temporarily occupied Crimea, which indicated the sender’s name, surname and other personal data. Such actions of the ex-people's deputy became the reason for the persecution of the student by the Russian special services.
