AFU is testing a new surveillance device/Come Back Alive Foundation

Ukrainian volunteers from the Come Back Alive Foundation have developed a special device for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The first samples of the “reconnaissance video tube” are already being tested at the front.

5 prototype “reconnaissance video tube” devices are being tested at the front line. This was reported in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to the volunteers of the “Come back alive” charity fund, such devices should reduce the losses of Ukrainian defenders from enemy sniper fire and improve the quality of observation of the enemy.

Compared to similar Soviet surveillance equipment, the developed device has a camera with a wide viewing angle and a screen with a higher resolution, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted.

A special device developed by Ukrainian volunteers for our Armed Forces allows you to monitor enemy actions from hidden positions. The first experimental devices are already being tested on the front line.

Why the Armed Forces of Ukraine have such equipment

The Come Back Alive charity foundation team explained that in certain sectors of the front the war with the Russian invaders is gradually moving to a positional one. In fact, this means that enemy snipers are activated.

Let us recall that during the trench battles in the Donbass in 2015-2022, unfortunately, enemy riflemen inflicted many losses among our soldiers.

Therefore, we are proactive, creating new, modern and, most importantly, safe means for observing the enemy from closed positions,” the foundation said.

As of June 8, 2022, the first 5 experimental devices are already being tested on the front lines by our military.

Volunteers noted that they want to make this surveillance tool of the highest quality, so after contacts” from the military to the front line, the Come Back Alive Foundation team will improve it and put it into mass production.

What is known about the “scout video tube”: the main thing

  • The Scout Video Tube has a wide-angle camera and a high-resolution screen, which should eliminate the discomfort of using Soviet surveillance equipment.
  • This will allow you to monitor enemy actions from a closed position. And that means being unattainable for a Russian sniper.
  • The cost of one “reconnaissance video tube” is 320 US dollars, which is about 11,250 hryvnias.
  • The “Come Back Alive” charity foundation plans to first make 100 such devices, and in the future – to saturate the entire front with them.
