Roman Ratushny Street appeared in Kyiv
The City Council supported the renaming of Volgogradskaya Street in the Solomensky District to Roman Ratushny Street. Vitali Klitschko wrote to a young resident of Kiev, a public activist, a hero-defender of Ukraine, who died in the east of our state in June this year.
The mayor of Kyiv remembered the personality of Roman Ratushny and noted that he went to defend Ukraine from the intrusions. Klitschko stressed that his death is a great loss for Ukraine and Kyiv in particular.
“It is people like Roman Ratushny who are the future of a strong and democratic Ukraine. Therefore, with today's decision, we immortalized the name of Roman and his work to protect the green zones of Kyiv,” said the mayor.
In addition to Volgogradskaya, about 40 more streets, alleys and squares of the capital associated with Russia have been renamed today. In particular, Moskovskaya Street in the city center is now called Princes Ostrozhsky.
