The Defense Forces regularly attack targets on Russian territory. In particular, Russian oil refineries often come under attack from Ukrainian drones.

The Russians are coming up with new methods to protect their oil refineries. Andrey Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, told Channel 24 in more detail.

How effective is the new method

Not long ago, the occupiers began installing protective nets against UAVs on oil refinery tanks. They are currently being tested, so these nets do not appear at all Russian oil depots.

However, given certain details that cannot be voiced, the nets will in no way help or protect against the skills of our military. Even if these nets are metal, they still will not help. Therefore, let them spend money and experiment, said the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.

There is information that the Liskinskaya oil depot in the Voronezh region, which was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the night of January 16, also had a protective net, but the Defense Forces managed to break through it.

Why attack the oil refinery

As Kovalenko noted, the oil depot near Voronezh is not the largest, but it is one of a galaxy of Russian oil refineries that supply fuel closer to the front.

First of all, it is good that Ukraine has the resources to destroy Russian oil refineries. Any oil depot is the logistics of the enemy's offensive. Because of the damage, the fuel burns out, the oil refineries do not work, the fuel is not produced, the equipment does not work effectively. Therefore, by knocking out the rear, it will be possible to slow down the front, – noted the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.

Therefore, whenever people say that the enemy is advancing in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhovsk direction and capturing populated areas, we must understand that it is one thing to stop the enemy at the front, which our military is doing, and another to stop the enemy by knocking out his rear.

Having knocked out the rear in sufficient numbers, it will be possible to inflict greater damage on the front, the amount of enemy equipment will decrease, – added Kovalenko.

By the way, on January 11, a fire broke out in one of the largest factories in Russia. It plays a key role in providing fuel to the Russian military, and this is not the first time it has been hit.
