The current chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Pavlo Kirilenko, will be tried on suspicion of illegal enrichment and submitting false information in declarations.

Trial of AMCU head Kirilenko: what is known

According to the investigation, during 2020-2023, while holding the position of head of the regional state administration, he purchased 21 real estate properties and a premium BMW X3 car. To hide the real owner, the properties were registered to his wife's relatives.

Among the acquired property:

  • 7 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhgorod with a total area of 688.5 sq. m;
  • a house near Kyiv with an area of over 220 sq. m and two plots of land;
  • 2 garage boxes;
  • 6 parking spaces;
  • 3 non-residential premises with an area of more than 190 sq. m;
  • BMW X3 car.

Investigators have established that the value of all this property exceeds the official income of the official and his wife by 72.1 million UAH.

Also, during 2020-2023, the official entered false data into electronic declarations as an official authorized to perform state functions.

The investigation was launched by NABU detectives and SAP prosecutors following the publication of a journalistic investigation by Radio Liberty.
