The Government of Ukraine has approved the Unity in Diversity program, which is the last of the seven requirements of the European Commission to begin negotiations on accession to the European Union.
This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal during a government meeting.< /p>
According to him, the goal of the adopted Unity in Diversity program is to create conditions for the realization of the rights and opportunities of national minorities and indigenous peoples.

Shmygal says that thus, after the approval of this program government, we can talk about the final implementation of the seven recommendations of the European Commission.
— In addition, the government conducted so-called self-screening. We analyzed 28 thousand acts of EU law regarding their implementation in the legal framework of Ukraine, — added the Prime Minister.
He recalled that on the way to the European Union, Ukraine launched a number of reforms in the judicial, anti-corruption and other areas:
- The reform of the Constitutional Court has started, in within the framework of which the government works in consultation with the Venice Commission;
- the High Council of Justice and the High Qualifications Commission of Judges have been rebooted;
- The institutional capacity and independence of anti-corruption bodies is strengthened. For example, the government bill on increasing the independence of the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office;
- new heads of NABU and SAPO were elected;
- at open competitions, the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) identified significant progress of Ukraine in preventing corruption ;
- the government has developed a regulatory framework to combat money laundering within the framework of FATF (International Anti-Money Laundering Group) standards;
- The Cabinet of Ministers has implemented the recommendations of the Venice Commission on the implementation of the anti-oligarchic law;
- legislation on media and advertising has begun;
- in pursuance of the new law on national minorities, the necessary acts have been developed.
