The foreign ministers of Estonia and Lithuania condemned the decision of the International Olympic Committee to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in “neutral” status.
The heads of the foreign ministries of these two countries wrote their position on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
According to the head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry Margus Tsahkn,allowing Russian athletes to participate in the Olympic Games without a flag will not wash away the blood on their hands.

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda called the IOC decision a disgrace. He said that Olympic values cannot be combined with murder, destruction and war crimes.

IOC allowed Russians to participate in the 2023 Olympics
December 8 The International Olympic Committee announced that athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus will be allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics in “neutral” status.
Representatives of the aggressor countries will only be able to compete in individual competitions. Teams will not be allowed to participate.
The committee noted that as of December 8, 2023, only 11 “neutral” athletes met the admission criteria to participate in the 2024 Olympics – eight athletes have a passport of the Russian Federation, three more – Belarus.
