The battalion of Belarusian volunteers joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine back in March. He was named after a national hero and one of the leaders of the national liberation uprising of Belarusians, Poles, Ukrainians and Lithuanians.

At the same time, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called them “crazy citizens.” On March 26, the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that they knew about 50 members of the battalion, and all of them would face criminal liability.
