The invaders continue to increase the number of their troops in different directions. The Russian president is beginning to maneuver not only in military terms.
He intends to resort to gas blackmail. Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vadim Denisenko said this on Channel 24.
“I think that this is the beginning of Putin's big global game, which is connected, in particular, with the gas blackmail of Europe” , Denisenko stressed.
Important and oil and gas front
According to him, in parallel with the hostilities, which are the most important for us, there is also the oil and gas front, primarily the gas one.
Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that from April 1, Russia will not “do charity” : they say, either you pay in rubles, or you get nothing at all.
This annoys most Europeans and not only. Although the G7 has stated that it does not intend to pay in rubles, a period of quite a lot of turbulence in this regard is beginning, Denisenko stressed.
Russia wants to put pressure on Europe
He explained that there are2 very important aspects:
- it is impossible to turn off the gas in the pipe at once. If Russia says that it will turn off gas on April 1, then it will still pump for about 10-14 days;
- this is the time when Gazprom has a fairly large payment of their international obligations.
“The Russians will “pump” this story in order to try to put pressure on Europe and force the Europeans to be more compliant,” said the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
