It helps protect soldiers during logistics and combat operations in any conditions and at any time of year.
How tasks can PROTECTOR perform?
PROTECTOR can perform a number of tasks: transportation of ammunition or equipment, evacuation of the wounded, use as a platform for a robotic combat module, mobile electronic warfare and electronic countermeasures systems, etc.
The carrying capacity of this remote-controlled platform is up to 700 kg. The range is up to 400 km. The vehicle is equipped with a powerful internal combustion engine and has high cross-country ability.
All-wheel drive allows you to overcome significant obstacles and fords , and RunFlat wheels allow you to continue moving even if damaged.
Deputy Minister of Defense Valery Churkin called this a de facto new branch of development of ground robotic systems.
“These are new opportunities for our soldiers, namely, performing dangerous tasks without risk to personnel. It is important that technologies come closer to the trenches, so that innovative warfare tools work more for the soldiers and for them. VOPs need to be strengthened as much as possible with robotic systems,” he said.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense codified the remote-controlled combat module Saber MK19 (M) and allowed its use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More information about the system is available at this link.
