Russia is afraid of a counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south, so it is strengthening its defense there. However, favorable conditions for the Ukrainian counteroffensive arise in the Izyum direction as well.

This Channel 24 opinion was expressed by the head of the Center for Military Legal Research, military expert Oleksandr Musiyenko. He noted that Russian units are exhausted in many areas.
Possibility for counteroffensive appears in the Izyum direction
The military expert noted that, in particular, in the Kharkov and Izyum directions, the infidel units are exhausted and ask for rotation and retrofitting.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to turn the tide at the front, and now they can impose their own scenario of combat operations on the enemy. Given this, the Russians constantly have to overturn units from one direction to another. For example, from Izyumskoye to the south and vice versa.
There are opportunities for Ukrainian forces in the Izyum direction. And it becomes noticeable how they carefully bite off a piece of Ukrainian land, which was temporarily occupied, and push back the positions of the enemy. – said Musienko.
He also stressed that in this way the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forcing the Russians to “patch” holes along the entire front line and tire the enemy troops even more.
The Russians have had minor successes only in the Avdeevskoye and Bakhmutskoye directions.
Musienko added that the only areas where Russia has made progress are Avdeevskoye and Bakhmutskoye. But they are very insignificant.
“If we look at the newly released information from British intelligence, Russian troops have only advanced 10 kilometers along the front over the previous month. This is a month. That is, this is not such a breakthrough as, for example, in May or June,” the military expert emphasized.
The situation in the Izyum direction: the latest news
