The Russian military continues to bombard Ukraine with Iranian kamikaze drones. The Air Force explained how the enemy camouflages Shaheeds to make them harder to shoot down.
The occupiers are doing everything possible to ensure that kamikaze drone attacks are effective. Therefore, they resort to certain tricks so that the existing air defense systems in Ukraine experience certain difficulties in shooting down Shahids. Yuri Ignat, speaker of the Air Force, spoke about this during a briefing, Channel 24 reports.
How the Russians camouflage Shaheeds
According to him, until the Armed Forces of Ukraine de-occupied the right bank of the Dnieper, the Russian invaders launched kamikaze drones both from the Crimean peninsula and the Kherson region. Since part of the area was liberated, the enemy had to change their strategy. Now he is launching attack drones from the eastern shore of the Sea of Azov.
Well, and then, when they were already flying along the Dnieper, flying to the central regions, in particular to Kyiv, there they were already shot down by the Center Air Command. For the third time, it seems, Shahids are being launched from the north, the Bryansk region, – Ignat noted.
But there were also launches from the territory of Belarus. In this case, kamikaze drones also flew along the riverbed of the Dnieper. They, Ignat noted, enter the airspace of Ukraine in the same way as Russian aircraft did at the beginning of a full-scale invasion.
The enemy uses both the relief and the riverbeds in order to be inconspicuous – both missiles and “Shahids” so that they can fly over and reach their targets. – emphasized Ignat.
According to the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, these methods of the Russian invaders have already been worked out by our military. That is why our air defense shoots down most Iranian drones, which are used by opponents for attacks.
Most of the drones were shot down
- Note that on the night of March 6, the Russian military carried out another drone attack. The enemy released 15 drones to hit targets. Fortunately, most of them managed to shoot down.
- According to the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, 13 out of 15 kamikaze drones were destroyed. He stressed that they are talking about Iranian UAVs of the Shahed 136 and Shahed 131 types. The invaders released them from the northern direction, the Bryansk region.
- The Russian military planned to attack the central and eastern regions of our state. One of the desired targets was Kyiv. But, according to the head of the KMVA, Sergei Popko, all air targets were neutralized.
