The Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel criticized the new Israeli Foreign Minister for having a conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. This is the first time since the start of a full-scale war that a foreign minister from a Middle Eastern country has spoken to a Russian counterpart.
The international policy of the Israeli government under Benjamin Netanyahu is very specific. Yaroslav Bozhko, the head of the center of political studios “Doctrine”, said this on air on Channel 24 .
In his opinion, despite his loyalty to the United States, Netanyahu has repeatedly expressed public commitment to Russia.
During elections in Israel, campaign posters were very often glued, on which Netanyahu was depicted along with Putin. To a large extent, people from the post-Soviet space who have pro-Russian views and are loyal to Putin vote for Netanyahu, the head of the Doctrine center explained.

Not providing weapons to Ukraine is a bizarre position
Bozhko said that while Israel is helping Ukraine only with the supply of first aid kits, protective equipment for the military, but does not provide weapons. At the same time, the country has a fairly developed military-industrial complex and it would be nice for the Ukrainian army to receive weapons from there.
“The fact that we don’t receive weapons from there shows a bizarre position: to pretend that they don’t see that Russia is the main ally for Israel’s direct enemy in the region – Iran. To believe that some situational geopolitical benefits can prevail over international law – this is a hypocritical position,” the head of the Doctrine center is sure.
Netanyahu will have to answer
According to Yaroslav Bozhko, in the future the problem of Iran will increase and eventually become more transparent for the people of Israel. In this case, Netanyahu and his officials will have to answer the question of why they shook hands with countries that supported the development of radical Islamism close to Israel.
I don't think it can look somehow structural, logical, consistent. This is pretty much the agony of Israel's corrupt government, which is criticized by many Israelis inside the country because it is very specific. – summed up Yaroslav Bozhko.
What is Israel planning?
- As soon as Iran crosses the “red line” in the nuclear program, then Israel is likely to launch air and missile strikes on Iranian nuclear centers
- Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said he was stepping down as Israel prepares for military strikes against Iran's nuclear facilities. He said that one day Israeli pilots might be called to take part in such an offensive against a neighboring country.
- Washington is negotiating with the new Israeli government about the possibility of stopping the supply of weapons from Iran.
