In July 2024, the absolute maximum on the planet was broken. Such a temperature had not been observed before.

Vera Balabukh, head of the department of applied meteorology and climatology of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Institute of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, spoke about this.

The meteorologist said that 2024 could be significantly warmer than the previous year. I noticed that already based on the results of the first half of the year, it is clear that the temperatures are significantly higher.

In July of this year, the absolute maximum temperature was broken on our planet. Such a temperature has never been observed before, – Vera Balabukh emphasized.

Of course, the changes that are happening are very significant. The expert noted that the state of the planet can be assessed by temperature. It is changing at such a high rate.

The meteorologist noted that this leads to very large consequences – changes in all systems. In particular, both the cryosphere and water resources are changing.

Interesting! The meteorologist noted that, unfortunately, in Ukraine the increase in average annual air temperature is occurring 2.5 – 3 times faster than the increase in global temperature.
