Russian “wunderwaffle” is waiting for a meeting with “Stugna”/MO RF
Back in 2017, an updated version of the Terminator-2 BMPT was presented at the Army-2017 forum, which created a sensation in the Russian media, which prophesied multimillion-dollar contracts for this combat vehicle.
Separately, they noted the fact that this BMPT (tank support fighting vehicle – channel 24) at that time was tested in the combat zone – Syria. Moreover, as noted, it was successful.
(non)combat tests
Indeed, in early July 2017, this combat vehicle was sent to the Deir ez-Zor area, where it was tests in real combat conditions. But, interestingly, already in mid-August, “Terminator-2” showed off at the international military-technical forum “Army-2017”.
That is, from the moment the BMPT was sent to Syria, in the thick of the clashes and the appearance at the exhibition, a maximum of a month has passed. A month to test the BMPT – is it a lot or a little? In my opinion, monstrously little!
While other samples of Russian equipment used in Syria were constantly shown in the plots of the Russian media, such as “Typhoon-K”, “Lynx”, “Pantsyr-S1 “and others, then the BMPT” Terminator-2 “during the period of testing in real combat conditions was not demonstrated, and after them – similarly!
It is strange that the footage of the combat use of the BMPT “Terminator-2” in Syria did not become a cult. Or is it not strange?
What is wrong
The fact is that the BMPT “Terminator-2” throughout the entire time of its creation was accompanied by problems that were difficult to solve and unsolvable.
For example, this combat vehicle has a disgusting view, the problem with which has not been finally resolved. Or the lack of an active defense system against ATGMs. And also the weight exceeding the mass of the T-72B3.The BMPT “Terminator-2” weighs more than 48 tons, while the mass of the T-72B3 is about 46.5 tons.
Check Ukraine
And now, this combat vehicle is on the front line in Ukraine, in the zone of the most intense hostilities.
In fact, the lack of equipment is forcing the Russian occupiers to send in Ukraine what is not so much a highly efficient model, but parade “wunderwaffles” with extremely dubious efficiency.
How soon will we see photos of the burnt piece BMPT “Terminator-2”? If I'm not mistaken, it's practically “already”.
