Tehran's Habit – Political Expert on Iranian President's Statement on War in Ukraine Melania Golembyovskaya

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country never supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine and denies that Tehran supplies Moscow with ballistic missiles. However, such words are another lie from Tehran.

Political expert, PhD Andrey Gorodnitsky told Channel 24 about this, noting that Iran has a habit of denying the fact of cooperation with Russia. If the words of the country's president were real, Iran should begin actions to get closer to the West in a few months.

Iran's statement regarding the war in Ukraine

According to the political expert, Iran always denies that it supplies anything to anyone, it does not even admit to transferring drones to Russia, which it has actually been supplying for more than two years. This is already a fact that has been proven by international intelligence services.

This is already a political habit of Tehran to say black for white and vice versa, Gorodnitsky emphasized.

The political expert explained that Iran and Russia have never been “friends” for real. However, everyone understands about its support and interaction with the aggressor country.

Such political statements are just fiction, no one ever believes them. Our diplomats often even responded aggressively to such words, – Gorodnitsky noted.

Iran is trying to play at democracy, to show that it always does the right things, coordinates at the international level with public organizations, but this is far from true. The citizens of the country understand this too.

The Iranian leadership is very two-faced, believing its words is like not respecting yourself, the political expert noted.

If we take these words seriously, then, according to Gorodnitsky, they should grow into actions. Over time, Iran would have to curtail its nuclear program and stop supplying Russia with missiles.

“If Iran does not take any actual steps toward rapprochement with the West in a few months, then the statement is just more empty words,” the political expert added.

Please note! In addition to drones, Russia received Fath-360 ballistic missiles from Iran. They can significantly expand Russia's capabilities at the front, allowing it to carry out more high-precision strikes. It is likely that the aggressor country will use them precisely at the front in order to free up its aviation for strikes on Ukraine.

Recall that Iran announced its readiness to sign an agreement with Russia back in July 2024, while Vladimir Putin believes that the agreement should be signed “at the highest level”.
