The village of Borodyanka near Kyiv is recovering from Russian occupation. The head of the village, Georgy Yerko, stayed there during the first week of the occupation.
In early March, he was forced to leave because of the threat of kidnapping. On the air of the national telethon, Yerko spoke about the events he witnessed during the occupation, channel 24 reports.
In the first week of the occupation, rashist military columns began to travel through the territory of the community. In Borodyanka, for the first time, a tank shot was fired at a house in which there was a family of 6 people, including one child. Everyone died, we transported them to the morgue in Makarov,” Yerko says.
Unfortunately, the deceased family could only be buried a month later in the village of Peskovka. After all, Borodyanka was still occupied then.
They shot everything in their path
According to Yerko, after this incident, the columns drove and shot at everything what they came across.
They hit the village and from the air. Its head says that the airstrike that Borodyanka felt was the first airstrike on civilians in Ukraine.
“We tried to dig people out of the rubble, but another convoy was moving and it was not possible to work, because they opened fire to kill. We tried to dig up the rubble three times, but we failed to do it three times,” Yerko recalled.
