Taiwan's Ministry of Commerce imposed sanctions against the Russian company Ai Machine Technology — one of the largest importers of Taiwanese machine tools in Russia after the publication of material in the American newspaper Washington Post.
Sanctions against a Russian company
The first materials about the Russian company were published at the end of January. Then it was reported that Russia plans to import machine tools from Taiwan in circumvention of sanctions — through Turkey and other countries.
The largest volume of imports was from Ai Machine Technology LLC, which produces machine tools and parts for them, when compared with all Russian importers who supplied Taiwanese goods from other countries.

The Russian company cooperates on an almost exclusive basis with the Taiwanese exporter with the similar name I Machine. According to journalists, from March to October 2023, the company imported Taiwanese machines worth at least $17 million.
The director of the Taiwanese I Machine, Ming-Tze Yu, said that after the imposition of sanctions the company no longer cooperates with I Machine Technology, but continues to maintain friendly relations.
