Airfields attacked in Syria

Syrian media, citing a military source, said that at approximately 5:25 local time, Israeli troops carried out an air attack on the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo. This led to the death of a civilian worker at Damascus airport and the injury of another Syrian.

However, subsequently the British agency Reuters, citing the Syrian General Directorate of Meteorology, reported that at least two workers were killed as a result of the bombing of Syria's Damascus airport in the morning.

It is worth noting that before this, Aleppo International Airport was allegedly shelled by Israel on October 14 and 12, while Damascus International Airport was hit only on October 12.

Earlier, Israeli planes hit the airport in Aleppo.

  • Syria said that the Israeli military attacked the airport in Aleppo late in the evening of October 14. As a result of this strike, the airfield was completely disabled.
  • According to eyewitnesses, strong explosions occurred near the airport, which could have been caused by two missiles striking the runway. It is worth noting that the airport only resumed operations a few days ago before it was hit.
  • A few days earlier, Syria and Israel exchanged fire in the disputed territory. In particular, Syria launched its missiles at Israel, and the IDF responded to the Syrians with artillery and mortar strikes.
