Switzerland extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 4, 2025

The Swiss government has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until March 4, 2025.

This was reported by the press service of the Swiss government.

– Long-term stabilization of the situation in Ukraine is not expected. Thus, S protection status for those seeking protection from Ukraine will not be canceled before March 4, 2025, the message notes.

The country has also set a target for labor market integration, with the goal of employing 20% to 40% of people with protected status who are able to work by the end of next year.

Currently watching

As of October of this year, about 66 thousand Ukrainians have protection status in Switzerland.

– Protected status S is valid until revoked by the Federal Council. The prerequisite for cancellation is the sustainable stabilization of the situation in Ukraine, the press service added.

Let us remind you that the US Department of Homeland Security announced the extension of temporary protection status for citizens of Ukraine for 18 months, that is, until April 19, 2025.
