In Sweden, they consider the process of Ukraine's accession to the European Union to be too slow and note that it needs to be accelerated.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Swedish Ministry of European Affairs, Jessica Rosenkranz, on the sidelines of the Council of Europe in Brussels, writes the Italian newspaper la Reppubblica.
Ukraine's accession to the EU
According to Rosenkranz, Ukraine is ready to begin negotiations on joining the EU and Sweden hopes to see progress in the membership talks soon.

“I think the EU accession process is too slow. We want Ukraine's EU accession process to be fast. According to the Commission's assessment, we also see that Ukraine is making huge progress in reforms, despite being in a state of war,” she noted.
Rosenkranz said the European Commission believed Ukraine was ready to begin the first round of negotiations, which Sweden “very much welcomed.”
“We are pushing for this and hope to see progress soon. This is something we will work hard on,” Rosenkranz said.
In April, it was reported that the EU was considering the possibility of continuing Moldova's accession process separately from Ukraine, amid Hungary's position of resisting negotiations with Kiev.
In June, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he intended to do everything possible to prevent Ukraine from joining the EU. He justified his position by ostensibly protecting national interests.
