Elina beat Angelina with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (9:7).
In total, the tennis players spent 1 hour and 41 minutes on the court, during which Svitolina served seven times and made three double faults. Kalinina has three aces in the match.

The meeting unfolded with a relatively equal fight. In the first game, Svitolina led with a break and did not return a single serve. In the second set, none of the Ukrainians gave up a game on their serve. And with the score 4:5, Elina won back two set points.

— It’s always difficult to play against someone from your country. I'm just really happy that I finished the match in straight sets because, to be honest, I didn't want to play the third one, — Svitolina said after the game.
Elina’s next opponent at the tournament in the UAE will be German Tatyana Maria, who in the first round defeated ex-Russian Varvara Gracheva, who plays for France.
Svitolina remained the only Ukrainian in singles at this tournament after the defeat of Dayana Yastremska in the first round and the withdrawal of Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko from the competition.
