Elina beat Angelina with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (9:7).

— It’s always difficult to play against someone from your country. I'm just really happy that I finished the match in straight sets because, to be honest, I didn't want to play the third one, — Svitolina said after the game.
Elina’s next opponent at the tournament in the UAE will be German Tatyana Maria, who in the first round defeated ex-Russian Varvara Gracheva, who plays for France.
Svitolina remained the only Ukrainian in singles at this tournament after the defeat of Dayana Yastremska in the first round and the withdrawal of Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko from the competition.
