A Ukrainian citizen was detained in Poland. A man is suspected of murdering his wife and two young daughters.

The corresponding information was confirmed to journalists by the speaker of the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań, Łukasz Wawrzyniak. In addition, the Consul General of Ukraine in Wroclaw, Yuriy Tokar, commented.

A woman and two little girls died

The prosecutor's office is already working on the case.

I confirm that a man has been detained – the father of two girls and the husband of the woman whose bodies we discovered. Autopsies on the bodies of the three victims will be carried out today. We plan to interrogate this man at noon today. I confirm that this man, woman and children are Ukrainians,” Wawrzyniak said.

In addition, the spokesman for the prosecutor's office said that the family had been in Poznan since 2019. In particular, they lived in a two-story private house.

What is known about the family

The Consul General of Ukraine in Wroclaw also confirmed that the consular office had received information on this matter from the Polish investigative authorities.

“We are keeping this matter under control,” Yuri Tokar emphasized.

He also noted that we are talking about a 42-year-old man who, under still unclear circumstances, allegedly “killed his 29-year-old wife and two children aged 1.5 and 4.5 years.”

Turner added that it was previously known that, according to Polish authorities, this family was considered prosperous. The man was doing business.
