On March 5, voters in 15 states, including California and Texas, will go to the polls. The so-called Super Tuesday will likely be decisive before the presidential election in November.

What is Super Tuesday?
Super Tuesday — this is the day most states vote in the presidential primaries.
Voting will take place in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia and the U.S. territory of American Samoa.
Republicans will compete in all 15 states, while Democrats — at 14, except Alaska. Democrats will also caucuse in American Samoa. And Democratic voting in Iowa continues for a few more weeks by mail, and results should be in.

Electing delegates
On Super Tuesday, 30% of the party convention delegates will likely be determined by Democrats and 34% by Republicans.
To receive the Republican Party nomination in the presidential election, a candidate must have the support of at least 1,215 delegates out of 2,429. The formal election will take place at the party's National Convention in July.
The incumbent president has no opponent among the Democrats, so it is now being decided who will face off against Joe Biden in the presidential election on November 5, 2024.
Nikki Haley Campaign
Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, won her first Republican primary Sunday in the District of Columbia. And he may well win a few more on Tuesday.
Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska endorsed her in the final days, just before Super Tuesday.
Minnesota's open primary on Super Tuesday will allow Democrats to vote for Haley if they choose. Polls in Virginia show that she is increasingly leaning towards Trump.
But most of all delegates — 169 in California and 161 in Texas — will almost certainly go to Trump.
Super Tuesday is a big deal for Hailey's donors, who need to make sure she has a chance. More than a third of all delegates will be awarded on Tuesday, not enough to make Trump the nominee, but enough to make him the favorite.
And then Haley will be faced with a choice: drop out of the race and support Trump, just drop out of the race, stay in the race until the money runs out, or consider running as a third party ? Regarding the latter option, Nikki Haley said that won't do this. Although the centrist group No Labels does not lose hope.
What to expect for Trump
Donald Trump won the primaries against Haley in her home state of South Carolina and is greatly hampered by her rival’s rhetoric. She speaks harshly of Trump's intemperance, his actions against the Constitution and much more.
Polls show Trump with a significant lead over Nikki Haley, so he's hoping to knock her out of the race completely. Although Haley is a pretty strong opponent for the ex-president.
And Super Tuesday may be her last chance to stop Trump from gaining momentum or exposing his potential vulnerabilities before the general election in November.
And Donald Trump does not hide his desire to start an election campaign against current President Joe Biden. It's expected to be a busy evening for Trump.
Court against Trump
March 4 The US Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump's name cannot be removed from the ballot in Colorado or any other state. The lawsuit was initiated in several states due to the fact that on January 6, 2021, Trump supporters stormed the Capitol because they did not agree with the loss of their candidate in the US presidential election.
The lawsuits cited the 14th Amendment to the Constitution to protect democracy — U.S. officials who have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution may not hold future office if they participated in the insurrection or provided aid or support to the rebels.
Super Tuesday for Biden
President Joe Biden won a landslide victory (80%) in Michigan last week, but 13.2% of voters voted undecided. Most of them protested the president's siding with Israel in its confrontation with Hamas in Gaza.
Campaigns are now gathering for similar protest votes in other states on Super Tuesday. California, Colorado, North Carolina, Minnesota and Vermont are among these states.
When will the results be available
Since voting takes place in six time zones, the final result will not be known immediately.
For example, American TV channels will begin calling states from approximately 20:00 Eastern time (03:00 Kyiv time).
