In several European countries there was a massive blackout. So, they were left without electricity.

Bosnia, Albania, Montenegro and the Adriatic coast of Croatia experienced serious power outages. This was reported by Reuters on June 21.

Traffic in the Croatian coastal city of Split came to a standstill after traffic lights stopped working, a report said. Ambulance sirens could be heard throughout the city.

Croatia's power company HEP said there was a power outage in some parts of the country were caused by “international disruptions that affected several countries.”

“The Croatian transport system operator is conducting an analysis with system operators in neighboring countries to determine the cause,” it added HEP.

It said it had activated all of its production capacity to ensure “supplies as soon as possible.”

Electricity Distributor Montenegro CEDIS noted that “grid failures” led to power outages across much of the country.

Albanian TV channel Top Channel reported that a number of cities, in particular in the capital Tirana, were left without electricity. Citing sources, he said that the cause of the blackout was a malfunction of the interconnector in Montenegro.
