As of November 25, there are more than two thousand trucks in queues on the Polish-Ukrainian border. What is happening at checkpoints now and where the situation is the most difficult – read on.

What is the situation on the border with Poland?

Now, according to Andrei Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service, there are 2,300 trucks in the queue in the direction of Yagodin, Krakovets and Rava-Ruska.

— In an hour, the Polish side can allow several trucks to enter and exit. It could be 2, 5, 8. It's different at different times. But this does not add traffic intensity, Demchenko said.

Of the blocked checkpoints, the most difficult situation is observed at the Krakovets checkpoint.

On November 23, Polish carriers also began blocking the Medika-Shegini checkpoint.

– Before this, they noted that the blocking of the Medyka – Shegini direction would be carried out from the 23rd to the 26th, but, as a rule, these actions could take place during the daytime, because at 21:00 yesterday the Polish side announced that the traffic was unblocked , notes Demchenko.

As of morning, there were 1,400 trucks in this direction towards Ukraine on Polish territory.

What is the situation on the border with Slovakia and Hungary

Due to the strike of Polish carriers on the border with Ukraine, the load on other routes has increased. As a result, there are queues at checkpoints with Slovakia and Hungary.

So, in the morning there were approximately 400 trucks in the direction of Uzhgorod-Vishne Nemecke on the territory of Slovakia towards Ukraine.

In particular, in the direction of the Tisza checkpoint on the border with Hungary – 460 trucks.

— If we talk more specifically about the section of the border with Slovakia, then in recent days we have noted intense truck traffic. There is no blocking. But, of course, this direction has become busier due to the situation on the border with Poland,” says Demchenko.

In particular, there are no pickets from Ukraine in response to the actions of Polish carriers.

“We do not note at checkpoints on the territory of Ukraine on the border with Poland that such actions take place nearby,” summed up the speaker of the State Border Guard Service.
