The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill, which decided to strengthen the border of Ukraine with Russia and Belarus. In Ukraine, they decided to expand the strip on the border with Russia and Belarus.
The details of the bill were explained on the air of the telethon by the speaker of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko, writes Channel 24 . According to him, this draft law, which was adopted by the Rada, amends 15 laws of Ukraine.
On the border with Russia and Belarus will operate a special regime of land use
“First of all, this is aimed at strengthening the viability of the State Border Service and, in general, strengthening our border,” Demchenko said.
He noted that a strip on the border was determined, where a special land use regime will operate.
If on all sections of the border with the EU countries and Moldova this strip of terrain is 30-50 meters, then on the direction of the border with Belarus and Russia this border strip will be up to 2 kilometers, Demchenko said.
The speaker of the State Border Guard Service explained that all engineering and fortification work should take place in these sections of the border strip to strengthen these areas.
“Lands in any property, where they are located, must be transferred to the military units of the State Border Guard Service in order for these works to be carried out in order to strengthen the direction of the border with Russia and Belarus,” he concluded.
Ukraine reinforces border with Russia and Belarus
- Russia is constantly trying to keep Ukrainians on their toes by conducting “exercises” in Belarus. The invaders are using the threat of an invasion from the North to divert the attention of our troops in other directions.
- Currently, Ukrainian military and officials maintain that there is no threat of an offensive from the North. In particular, Natalya Gumenyuk, the speaker of OK “South” said that any scenarios of the development of events should not be rejected.
- However, according to her, the big question is whether there are really power grabbers to open a new front. She noted that these are most likely hypothetical threats that are likely under a certain list of circumstances.
- According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the morning of March 4, in the Volyn, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, the operational situation did not change significantly. In particular, no enemy offensive groupings were found.
