Rolling power outages have begun in the unrecognized Transnistria. They are connected with the fact that local residents “are currently consuming more electricity than the power grid produces.”

This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development of the self-proclaimed republic, DW writes, 24 Kanal reports.

Blackout in Transnistria

The publication writes that the supply of electricity to certain settlements is cut off for an hour between 18:00 and 22:00 local time. At the same time, the specified period may be increased by 30 minutes due to the peculiarities of the “technological process”.

Let us add that at about 8 o'clock in the evening, the independent online publication of Moldova NewsMaker.md reported in the Telegram channel that in Transnistria they began to disconnect entire streets/districts from electricity.

They added that local media and social network users are sharing video footage of what this looks like.
