NATO Support
NATO does not have a list of weapons, which cannot be delivered to Ukraine. French President Macron spoke about him earlier.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference after the summit in Madrid. Journalists asked him if he supported the idea of providing Western-made battle tanks to Ukraine.
NATO countries are rearming Ukraine
The Secretary General replied that the North Atlantic Alliance supports the idea of supplying a large number of modern weapons, including modern Western production.
And at this summit there was a new announcement. In fact, NATO now has the task of helping Ukraine move from old Soviet-era weapons to modern NATO standard weapons. And, of course, we do not have a list of equipment that we will exclude from it,” Stoltenberg said.
He added that Ukraine needs a wide range of modern heavy weapons according to NATO standards, and this is also the message of this summit.< /p>
Forbidden List
On June 16, during his visit to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Western countries do not supply Ukraine with attack aircraft and tanks in principle. He called it “almost the official position of NATO.”
“We help Ukraine defend itself, but we do not go to war with Russia. Therefore, we agreed not to supply certain types of weapons, such as attack aircraft or tanks, and President Zelensky is in the know,” Macron said.
Also on June 30, US President Joseph Biden announced a new aid package. It will include air defense systems, as well as even more artillery and ammunition. Also on the list are counter-battery radars and more HIMARS missiles.
