NATO Secretary General made another statement about the possibility of deploying troops on the territory of Ukraine. He noted that the North Atlantic Alliance does not plan to do this.

Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview during a visit to Italy. The Secretary General also answered whether Ukraine asked NATO to send troops.

“NATO does not intend to deploy troops in Ukraine”

The official recalled that due to delays in the supply of weapons from the United States and Europe to Ukraine, the occupying forces were able to make progress in their offensive. And although the situation is changing now, we are not talking about a presence “on the ground.”

NATO does not intend to deploy troops in Ukraine. When I visited Ukraine last week, the Ukrainians weren’t asking for NATO troops, they were asking for more support,” Stoltenberg emphasized.

He also added that the Russian dictator still believes in “victory” in Ukraine. So, according to the Secretary General, the only way to convince the aggressor to sit down at the negotiating table is to prove on the battlefield that Putin will not win.

“And the only way to achieve this is to provide Ukraine with military support,” stressed the NATO Secretary General.
