The money raised through the campaign will be used by the UAnimals charity foundation to treat and sterilize animals in frontline and shelled cities and villages.
You can join the campaign by purchasing a branded sticker for 20 UAH at MasterZoo chain pet stores or on the website masterzoo.ua/ua/. If you pay for the sticker with a Visa card from Sense Bank, partners will increase the donation by another 30 UAH, so 50 UAH in total will go to charity. You can buy an unlimited number of stickers. The charity initiative will last until October 31, 2024.
The charity initiative “Care Paw” was created by the MasterZoo chain of pet stores and the UAnimals organization. Every year “Care Paw” unites partners and caring Ukrainians to raise money to save four-legged animals. Last year, the initiative managed to raise more than 4 million hryvnia, and its participants launched a flash mob, covering the checkout areas of pet stores with paws with the names of their pets.

The role of sterilization in solving the problem of homeless animals
This year “Care Paw” will help to ensure sterilization and treatment of tailed animals in hard-to-reach places where there are no veterinary clinics. For example, such a need exists in frontline and shelled cities and villages of Sumy, Kharkov, Donetsk, Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporizhia and Odessa regions.
Sterilization is the most effective way to reduce chaotic reproduction, and accordingly, reduce the number of homeless animals. This problem is especially acute in Ukraine during a full-scale war, when the number of homeless animals has increased significantly.
According to UAnimals:
- In shelters and in the care of volunteers in the rear areas, the number of animals increased by 20-30%.
- In frontline areas, the number of tailed animals increased by 60% among zoo volunteers and by 100% in shelters.
In addition, sterilization helps prevent the development of diseases and prolong the life of animals. The results of a study by the University of Georgia, which analyzed the medical records of more than 70 thousand animals, indicate that the life expectancy of sterilized dogs is on average 20% longer.
UAnimals will be able to provide medical care in frontline villages and towns thanks to a veterinary mobile, which allows veterinarians to reach the most remote corners of Ukraine. The car contains all the necessary equipment to sterilize and treat animals right there. The money collected as part of Paw of Care will help provide such trips with everything necessary, from veterinary drugs to operating expenses.
