SBI investigators reported the suspicion to a former law enforcement officer from Lugansk in collaborationism. He has been working for the Russian invaders in Luhansk since 2014.
The State Bureau of Investigation suspects Sergei Gorenko of treason. Now he is considered by the invaders to be the “general prosecutor” in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region.
True, he was accused of collaborationism in absentia. Soon the “Prosecutor General of the illegal republic” will be put on the wanted list with the right to physical detention.
Employees of the DBR found that the suspect voluntarily agreed to the offer of the occupiers to take the illegal position of “general prosecutor” of a terrorist organization. For this, according to part 7 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to 15 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 15 years.
“According to the investigation, the suspect voluntarily took the position of “general prosecutor” in the “LPR prosecutor's office” illegally created in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region. Heading this so-called law enforcement agency, after a full-scale invasion of the Russian armed forces into the territory of Ukraine, he actively supports briefings and awards employees of the “LPR Prosecutor's Office” as the “Prosecutor General”, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
Law enforcement officers do not name the suspect. But this is Sergey Gorenko.
In the ranks of the Ukrainian police, he held senior positions, including in the internal security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Luhansk region.
But in 2014, he swore the oath and began working for the invaders. He was appointed to the post of “First Deputy Prosecutor General of the LPR”. And since 2017 – already to the position of Prosecutor General, although until 2019 he worked with the prefix acting.
This happened after almost no A war began between the leaders of the collaborators – Igor Plotnitsky and Igor Kornet. Then they actively detained each other's people, including “acting prosecutor general” Vitaly Podobry. At the same time, “officers from the prosecutor's office” were detained by storm, after which they were taken to an unknown direction. Later, Podobroy was simply “suspended”, and Gorenko was appointed in his place.
