Two good news came from the US yesterday.

Ukraine receives US billions

Firstly, US President Joseph Biden initiated a new $33 billion support package for Ukraine . More than 20 billion of it should go to defense.

More than 8 billion dollars are planned for economic support, 3 billion dollars will be directed to humanitarian aid.

Lend-lease introduced

The second good news is that the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the bill on lend-lease. Lease and Defense of Ukraine's Democracy, which will expedite the transfer of important military equipment and other critical supplies to Ukraine by reducing bureaucratic delays.

Lend-Lease allows de facto gifting of equipment with provisions stipulating that the recipient countries pay their cost USA later.

The need to resume the lend-lease program used by the United States during the Second World War, and its application to Ukraine, was written in the first days of Russia's war against Ukraine by the author of these terms, and many other people. It finally happened.

Only the beginning

But this program itself (the bill on which the President of the United States has yet to sign) is a mechanism that needs money to fill it.

A new support package for Ukraine (33 billion dollars), as I understand it, should be the starting content of the Lend-Lease program for the defense of Ukraine's democracy.

Thus Thus, both news are interconnected.

The efforts of both US President Biden and Congress are directed in one direction. Therefore, there is no doubt that President Biden will sign the law on lend-lease, and the US Congress will support the proposals of the US President on a new support package for Ukraine.
