On the night of March 9, the Russian invaders resorted to another massive attack on Ukraine. In the village of Velyka Vilshanitsa, Zolochiv community, an enemy rocket fell at about 4 am.
As a result of the tragedy, 5 local residents were killed. This was told to Channel 24 by the mayor of Zolochev Igor Grinkov.
Enemy missile attack kills 5 civilians
The rocket completely destroyed 2 residential buildings. In one of them, 2 people died, in the other – 3. The rescue operation lasted until about 8:30.
We hoped to find the living under the rubble, but, unfortunately, all our fellow villagers died, – said Mayor Zolochev.
In addition, neighboring houses were damaged, including damage to windows, doors and roofs of premises. Now a special commission is working on the spot, which measures the damage in order to understand how much damage was caused by another cynical attack by the Russian occupiers.
Spouses thrown out of the house by the blast
It is known that rescuers localized the fire at the site of the rocket crash. So far, there are no more people under the rubble. However, they have not yet been completely dismantled, because there are piles of bricks.
“The spouses were thrown out of one of the houses by an explosive wave. The woman was found in the garden near the house, and the man was found under the rubble near the utility building,” Grinkov said.
This is the second attack on Zolochev
“This is the second attack on our community. Last year, as a result of rocket attacks, we destroyed a brick factory on Ternopilska Street in Zolochiv,” the mayor of Zolochev said.
