Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles said her country is preparing to send the materials necessary for Ukraine to receive a fully operational Hawk anti-aircraft battery in September.
She said this during a video conference with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, according to the website of the Ministry of the Armed Forces of Spain.

During the conversation, Umerov provided an update on the situation on the battlefield, as well as the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In turn, Robles spoke in detail about the upcoming deliveries of military equipment. She also noted significant progress in the training of Ukrainian military personnel, which reached 5,000 trained soldiers.
— The Minister also informed Minister Umerov about the upcoming supplies of materials necessary for Ukraine to receive a fully operational Hawk anti-aircraft battery in September, which will increase the air defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, — the message says.
Robles also noted the humanitarian aspect of Spanish support, expressed in such actions as helping orphans and relatives of Ukrainian soldiers spend a few days in Spain, facilitating transportation from Poland.
In turn, Umerov expressed sincere gratitude for Spanish support, which contributes to the defense of Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggressive war.
Recall that on July 15, the Spanish government began transferring a new package of military assistance to Ukraine, which will include ten German Leopard tanks, several excavators and a significant number of anti-tank missiles.
The tanks underwent technical procedures and comprehensive repairs before being delivered to Ukraine. They fully correspond to the tasks provided for by combat positions at the front.
