In South Korea, drones will be created that can replace soldiers on the battlefield. This was reported by the South Korean Defense Procurement Agency (DAPA), TASS reports.
The republic is going to invest $ 2.3 billion over 10 years in the development of military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
“It is planned to create several types of drones to perform various tasks – from reconnaissance to combat,” the message says.
The developers are also trying to install assault rifles and grenade launchers on UAVs. The corresponding technologies are planned to be created by 2022, over the next four years, work will be carried out “on the direct creation of a weapons platform.”
Earlier in September, the “Military-Industrial Courier” wrote that the lag of Russia in the creation of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the United States is becoming shameful. The publication explained the lag of Russia from the United States and Turkey in the field of shock UAVs, in particular, by the lack of its own “advanced microelectronics”.
