– Based on Ukraine’s request for humanitarian assistance, as well as the European Commission’s call for Member States to show solidarity with the civilian populations affected by the military conflict, the Slovak Republic is donating humanitarian aid with all necessary equipment , says the official statement.
Recall that Slovakia’s position on military assistance to Ukraine changed after the appointment of Robert Fico to the post of Prime Minister. He immediately announced that he would not support the supply of weapons to Kyiv from the country's reserves.
At the same time, Fico assured that the Slovak government will not prevent companies from producing and supplying weapons to their customers, including in Ukraine.
