The Slovak Foreign Ministry's statement did not provide any specific details. However, it is known that the day before, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically rejected Fico's accusations about Kyiv's alleged involvement in anti-government protests in Slovakia.
In response, the Ukrainian side advised the Prime Minister to look “not abroad, but in the mirror”.
Dispute over gas transit
During a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economics, Robert Fico made harsh statements about Volodymyr Zelensky. He accused the President of Ukraine of allegedly being an enemy of Slovakia and to blame for the country's problems.
The reason for such statements was Zelensky's comment on the possibility of transiting Azerbaijani gas to Europe. Fico responded critically to this, saying that such ideas are “illusory” and have no real basis.
The Ukrainian president stressed that Slovakia is making a mistake by choosing cooperation with Moscow instead of Western partners.
According to him, American liquefied natural gas can be bought for money, but Russian gas is also worth independence and sovereignty.
