Occupiers surrounded Slavutych/Oleksandr Pavlyuk
On March 26, Russian assassins ended up in Slavutych, Kiev region. The occupiers took Mayor Yuri Fomichev hostage.
This was announced on March 26 by Vadim Denisenko, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs. He said that the mayor was soon released and he spoke at a large rally.
“Several hundred people gathered. He spoke and said that the city is Ukrainian. The Russians demand that the police be removed, but we understand that after that the following demands will follow. They come in with kind of softer demands, and then they start demanding things that are unacceptable in any normal life,” Denisenko said.
It is not clear what the Russians want
According to the adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the situation in Slavutych is complicated and tense. He noted that it is not completely clear what the plans of the Russians are.
The city is surrounded by Russian invaders, but without the inhabitants of Slavutych it is impossible to ensure the life of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Denisenko said.
The adviser believes that the occupiers are uncontrollable. He recalled how the rashists in Energodar blew up shells after the first power unit and disconnected the cooling pumps at the storage facility at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant from electricity.
