The Ukrainian military is ready to likely repel Russian attacks from the air in the Kyiv region. All kinds of air defense systems are concentrated in the Kyiv region, protecting the capital from Russian air attacks.
This was told by the commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Sergei Naev. He stressed that now the sky over Kiev is protected.
Air defense forces and means are constantly maneuvering
“This conclusion is confirmed by an extensive system of various types of air defense, which are dispersed in certain places in the Kyiv region,” Naev said.
The lieutenant-general added that the air defense forces and means are constantly maneuvering on the ground so that “the enemy does not figure out exactly where our air defense means are.”
The entire system is constantly maintained in combat readiness. In particular, timely notification and provision of target designations through the channels of the control system was organized. Thanks to this, each calculation and crew in a short time receive their own separate task to repel the threat from the air, Naev said.
Is a second Russian offensive on Kyiv possible?
In an interview with TSN.ua, Andriy Nebitov, the head of the Kyiv region police, said that a second attempt by the Russian occupiers to attack Kyiv is almost impossible.
According to him, since the beginning of the de-occupation of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, appropriate fortification activities have been carried out there. The military does not stop working.
Reinforced special forces with appropriate armored vehicles and heavy weapons capable of shooting down even helicopters continue to carry out their tasks. The military component is intensifying, – said the head of the police of the Kyiv region.
Nebitov also noted that 80% of the territory are swamps, so in the spring it is almost impossible to pass through the territory. Mining of the territory and other serious events were carried out.
“In my opinion, a second trip to Kyiv is impossible. Although it is possible that they will try, but in this case they are subjected to a worthy rebuff,” the police chief added.
