There are more than 200 citizens of Ukraine on the border of the Gaza Strip and Egypt in the area of the Rafah checkpoint. Among them — two people with serious injuries. The Egyptian side does not give permission to enter its territory.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevgeny Korniychuk in a comment to journalists. According to him, this information is as of Saturday evening.
— 243 of our citizens, today there are already two seriously wounded among them due to shelling. These people moved to the south of Gaza, closer to Rafah, to the checkpoint. Someone in the open air, with friends, in shelters, — he noted.
The Ambassador claims that the situation at the Rafah checkpoint is now very critical. According to him, the Ukrainian side is losing contact with its citizens, because it is completely cut off there, even access to the Internet.

According to the latest data, Egyptian border guards have not yet provided permission for people to cross from the territory of the Gaza Strip . Observers report that there are several hundred thousand people at the checkpoint, in particular foreigners.
