In the first eight months of this year, weapons production in Ukraine has doubled compared to 2023.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the Defense Industries Forum.

– Today, Ukraine produces such a quantity of various weapons that in 2022 it would have seemed impossible. In 2023, weapons production tripled. And in the first 8 months of this year, production has doubled again, – the head of government said.

Denys Shmyhal also noted that the government has included 65% more funds in the draft state budget for the purchase of weapons and military equipment next year. Therefore, this is an increase of almost UAH 300 billion, or $7 billion.
According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine will produce 1.5 million drones this year, including thanks to the involvement and support of private companies.
He said that the Ukrainian defense-tech cluster Brave1 is increasing grants for defense startups. Now developers will be able to receive up to UAH 8 million in non-refundable funds.
Denys Shmygal noted that Ukraine's priorities for production include:
- various types of drones, including ground-based robotic systems;
- creation of a full-fledged missile program, in particular ballistic weapons;
- expansion of production of shells of all types;
- artillery systems and various types of armored vehicles.
Ukraine is also investing in the development of electronic warfare equipment struggle.
Denys Shmygal noted that Ukraine is building an arsenal not only to win a full-scale war against the Russian Federation, but also for the future security of all of Europe and the world.
