Volodymyr Zelensky on February 26 announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft over Avdiivka. It fell on territories not controlled by Ukraine.
This was announced on Channel 24 by the head of the Avdiivka city military-civilian administration, Vitaliy Barabash. He said that Russian aviation carries out dozens of sorties on the eastern front a day.
Russian aviation has become more active in the Donetsk direction, the number of flights of planes and helicopters has increased, Barabash noted. This indicates the massiveness of air strikes on the settlements of the Donetsk direction and the defense line.
According to the head of the Avdiivka city military-civilian administration, the flight control center has now been moved from Rostov-on-Don to Donetsk. The consequence of this was the activation of Russian aviation in the sky.
