After the assassination attempt on Donald Trump on July 13, the Oversight Committee of the US House of Representatives invited the head of the US Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle. She must provide an explanation regarding the incident that occurred with the former US President.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee, the House's chief investigative arm, has invited Cheatle to testify regarding the assassination attempt on Trump for its July 22 meeting.

Congress demands clarification from the head of the US Secret Service

Committee Chairman James Comer published a letter on the social network X addressed to Cheatle, in which he announced the beginning of an investigation into the assassination attempt to kill Trump. The head of the US Secret Service has been asked to voluntarily appear at a committee meeting on a specified date.
